For whatever reason, my entire floor is basically econ majors, and most of those guys are not worrying about nice social-justice-y things like how gender-based income discrepancies impact a country’s GDP. They have their eye on Wall Street jobs, ideally at wherever their dad works.
I think Trinity is in this weird position where it’s reckoning with trying to be a modern liberal-arts college vs its history of being every St Grottlesex kid’s safety school, so you have this veneer of progressive respectability that masks a deep-seated and increasingly disjunctive conservative streak.
