Best classes

I’d recommend intro to physics with Mark Silverman any day. I had Energy and Society with him a year ago and it was one of the best classes I’ve taken. Hope he doesn’t retire for a while.

Also, his basement lab is pretty badass.

Yes. The college doesn’t even know he’s here. Some say he lives in the secret tunnel between Mather and the Long Walk, coming out only at night to deliver mostly unattended tirades in the McCook auditorium.

I don’t believe this

I work late nights in one of the McCook physics labs about a hundred feet down the hall from the auditorium. There are nights when he doesn’t stop hollering until after 2AM, and security refuses to deal with him.

Whatever canceling was attempted, it didn’t stick.

Stramondo is fantastic—only prof whose classes I didn’t sleep through.

CPSC-114 with Taylor is excellent if you want a solid introduction to web development: covers HTML4, gets into CSS, and explains some of the differences between Netscape and Internet Explorer. I thought he could have gone into Javascript more, but you don’t really need that to build a basic site.

I took CS 114 last year, was kind of disappointed with it. he didn’t cover mobile web dev at ALL, none of the assignments look good on iPhone

How in the world do you have an iPhone? Those won’t exist for another six years or so.

I’ve heard that Prof. Goodwin mixes business with leather, can anyone confirm?

I had Graduate Macroeconomics with Gouri Suresh a few years ago. Really great guy, always took the time to explain everything.

I recommend Folklore, Fairy Tale and Beyond, great class. We even got to watch Pretty Woman as an interpretation of the Cinderella story.

Kind of makes me wish I’d taken more classes outside of studio arts and comp sci.
